Be Safe - Be Kind - Be Ready to Learn

A Message from Our Principal Mrs. Cheryl Deskins

Although we are facing many new challenges in this school year, my staff and I are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students.  We continue to strive to help all our students to develop excellent academic skills, while instilling in them the essential principles of pride, respect and responsibility.  I look forward to working together with our staff, students and parents to make every day a productive and rewarding one.

Please feel free to contact the school office with any questions or concerns.

LES Car Rider System

We are soon implementing a NEW Car Rider System at LES, which will make Home Time a safer and more efficient process.  Each parent will receive an ID card to hang from the rearview mirror in your car.  When you approach the school to pick up your child at the end of the day, the system will send a message to the school and your child will be brought outside to the Pick-Up loop by a Teacher.  You will be contacted when this system begins.

Meal Delivery

As we continue with Blended and Virtual Learning, student meals are being delivered EVERY Wednesday to Bus Stops throughout Logan County.  Buses generally leave the school at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.  Students on the Blended Learning Schedule receive 3 meals every week in addition to the meals received at school.  Students on the Virtual Learning Schedule receive 5 meals every week.

Teacher Spotlight

Clarissa Fekete teaches Physical Education at LES.  She works hard every day to make sure our students learn about the importance of keeping their bodies healthy and active.  She also plays an integral part in the organization and planning of many special events at our school.

Service Personnel Spotlight

Bernice Adkins is Cafeteria Manager at LES.  She has worked at LES for 16 years.  Bernice works hard to make sure our children are fed and taken care of.  She has played a major role in the distribution of meals throughout the pandemic.
